“History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition is not the strident clamor of the bad people but the appalling silence of the good people”

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

My heart is drawn to photojournalism in an inexplicable way.  The call is one of beauty, revealed in all of life’s emotions and events; in grief and giving, in laughter and suffering, in weddings and in tragic deaths of loved ones lost too soon.  The camera is a stoic witness to all of this and a compassionate validation of its subjects in the hands of one who cares.  The most honest photograph is a testimonial to what it means to be human.  Magnified by the astounding reach of modern media, photographs have the power to touch the masses and thereby change lives and shape events of all kinds.   With awareness, respect and hope, I use my camera every day with the intent of serving my community well.                            - Autumn Cruz

I Believe...

Pictures can make a difference.

I believe it because I’ve seen it.
